DC Shorts LAUGHS combines film and live performance for a spectacular and lighthearted evening. Check below to see what films will be playing and what comedians will be performing.

Mike Finazzo

Mike Finazzo is a filmmaker and stand up comedian. Created in 1984 by his parents, Neuroses and Earnestness; Finazzo directed his first feature The Life and Times of Andrew Quinn in 2007. Since then, the Baltimore native has performed as far north as Canada and as far west as California as a storyteller and comedian. Mike's comedy can regularly be heard on Sirius XM and his album Stupid Genius is currently available on iTunes.

Michele Sometimes

Michele Sometimes is a DC-based writer and stand-up comedian. Michele was a semi-finalist in the ABFF Comedy Wings Competition in 2013. She curates and hosts her own comedy show called The Sometimes Pop-Up Comedy and Improv Show; as well as produces and hosts an interactive comedy and storytelling show called SMASH!

Jared Stern

Jared has been making complete strangers laugh at him for over a decade. He has performed with the likes of Louis C.K., Judah Friedlander, Richard Lewis, Tom Arnold, Mike Birbiglia, Emo Philips, and Caroline Rhea. He was voted 2013 Best Comedian in DC by the readers of the Washington City Paper. He is also the silky smooth voice of the DC Improv's Headliner of State podcast. His album, Strangers Laugh at Me, was recently transcribed in the Library of Congress.

GALA Hispanic Theater

3333 14th St NW, Washington, DC 20010

GALA’s performance venue is located at 3333 14th Street, NW in the Columbia Heights neighborhood of Washington, DC 20010. The entrance is on 14th Street in the middle of the block between Park Road and Monroe Street. The box office and theater entrance is located on the second floor by stairs or mezzanine level (M) through the elevator.

Parking
There is a parking garage available for GALA patrons behind the theater in the Giant Food garage on Park Road, NW (heading south on 14th, take a left onto Park Road).  Parking is available behind the theater at the Giant Grocery Store on Park Road. You will be issued a parking ticket that can be validated in the GALA box office for a $4 flat fee instead of the regular hourly rate. Limited street parking is available on 14th Street, Park Road, and Monroe Street.

Metro/Walking
GALA Theatre is on 14th Street, one block north of the Columbia Heights Metro Station on the Green/Yellow lines.

Driving
From downtown Washington, DC: Go north on 14th Street, NW. After crossing Irving Street (where the Columbia Heights Metro station is located) continue one block north and either turn right on Park Road to access the Giant Parking Garage or continue straight to drop off passengers at the entrance at 3333 14th Street, NW.
